Domestic hot and cold water systems must be operated and maintained in a correct and safe manner and adequate precautionary measures must be taken against reducing / managing the risk from Legionellosis. The essence of good water hygiene depends on maintaining water temperatures within controlled limits and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Four basic principals must be adhered to in the operation of the system.

Maintain cold water at a sufficiently low temperature.

Maintain hot water at a sufficiently high temperature.

Keep water on the move.

Keep the water and the storage and distribution systems clean.
Our log books contain instructions and documentation which is to be completed when checks, inspections and measurements are made to the systems.
The instructions and procedures contained within the log book document are to be carried out in conjunction with the existing mechanical planned maintenance activities carried out on the system plant and components.
Pegasus can provide you with a logbook to carry out your own water monitoring checks. Each log book is tailored to the building and will include a full asset list, including all plant. Sections for all areas of monitoring are included.
Water Monitoring Services / Water Sampling

Pegasus can provide a monthly service which includes every aspect of monthly monitoring, including a full asset register, hot and cold water distribution / outlet temperature checks, cold water storage tank assessment, hot water plant / equipment assessment.
All our services comply with ACOP L8.
Where water samples may be required for micro-biological analysis, including Legionella, Pegasus Environmental Consultancy Limited are able to provide a water sampling service by using a UKAS Accredited testing laboratory.
